What Turnstyle Designs makes

Turnstyle Designs makes door hardware for high-end residential, commercial and yacht projects, together with cabinet and window hardware.

• Door hardware: lever handles, door knobs, pull handles, flush pulls, multi-grip pulls, T-bar door pulls, escutcheons and turn and release sets.
• Furniture hardware: cabinet knobs, cup handles, cabinet pulls, edge pulls, latching handles and cabinet T-bars.
• Window hardware: espagnolette, tilt and turn, and lift and slide handles.
• Collections: including Bamboo, Barrel, Classic Tube, Diamond, Faceted, Hickory, Labyrinth, Mosaic, Rough Cut, Shagreen, Square, Wire and Woven.

Finishes and materials

• Solid brass living finishes: such as Polished Brass, Vintage Patina, Fine Antique Brass and Satin Brass, finished with a durable wax rather than lacquer so they age evenly with use.
• Hammered: brass and nickel finishes hammered individually, such as Burnished Brass and Burnished Nickel.
• Amalfine: Turnstyle's own composite blend, developed since 1992, hand-cast and hand-machined, in finishes such as Cocoa, Black Bronze, Silver Bronze and Alupewt. Recommended for interior use only.
• Leather: full-grain, vegetable-tanned bridle leather from a tannery in Tuscany, hand-stitched by Turnstyle's leather craftswomen.

A finish swatch box with the full range of leather, Amalfine and brass finishes is available for presenting options to clients.

Made in North Devon

Turnstyle's factory in Barnstaple uses CNC machining, turning, milling, forging, investment casting and extrusion, followed by in-house finishing. Its leather handles are hand-stitched by a team of trained leather craftswomen.

The company is a certified B Corporation and says it was the first hardware manufacturer in the world to certify. It has also won The Queen's Award for Export, and exports more than 75% of its business to dealer partners in over 30 countries.

No. Turnstyle's solid brass living finishes are sealed with a durable wax rather than lacquer, so they change evenly with time and use instead of wearing patchily.

Yes. Turnstyle supplies alternative fixings for thicker doors and joinery, and offers lever handle configurations and backplates for multipoint locking entrance doors. Faura confirms door thicknesses and handing before ordering.
